Tunbridge Well Invitation

Kin Ryu Judo club are celebrating their latest successes following a great medal haul at the Class Master invitation held in Tunbridge Wells.
22 young Kin Ryu fighters competed in what was to be a tough event even for some of the clubs more seasoned players and although they were nervous they were determined to do their best.
In the youngest group Kin Ryu was represented by George Harman, Grace Beckett, Fraser Lynn, Enrique Howells and Katherine Burke who are all aged 5-6.
All fought well and showed some great skill especially for their age and experience and resulted in Enrique, Grace, George, and Fraser all taking a bronze medal and Katherine taking the first Gold of the day.
Fraser was then awarded the Spirit of judo award for his group for his determination as he was the smallest and youngest in the group but held his own exceptionally well! Following these were the players in the 7 – 8 year old group.
The club was represented by Adam Funnell, Suzannah Neave, William Burke, Samuel Howarth-Moore, Joe Beckett, Zack Wake, Lia Thompson and Lauren Graves.
All fought hard resulting in Lia, Suzy, Samuel and Lauren taking bronze and Joe, Adam, Zack, Will taking gold a great achievement for this group of youngsters.
In the 9 and overs Kin Ryu had 9 fighters representing the club, Matthew Graves, Corlia Robertson, Andrew Robertson, Harrison Lynn, Niamh Leahy, Leanne Gilmore, Jane Neave, James Lilburn and Ellie Woods.
Determined to keep up the success of the day, all the players fought hard and despite some tough fights, Leanne, Andrew and James came away with a bronze medal, Niamh and Harrison with a silver and Matthew, Ellie, Corlia, and Jane took the gold.
